“Riverbend School has used the services of World Class Tours for more than 30 years. Betty takes great pride in building an itinerary that “fits” our school group. We always travel as a single group and are never paired with another school. Meals and accommodations are thoughtfully planned to enhance the itinerary and experience. Our students return with memories that last a lifetime.”

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What's the minimum number of students required to make up a group?

Technically, the minimum number of students is 10 for group bookings.

Due to minimum 10:1 (student:adult) ratios and the need to have a male and female supervisor, groups are typically 20+ students.

How far in advance should we start planning our class trip?

It is never too early to start planning but generally, for spring break tours, it is best to contact World Class Tours a minimum of 12 months before you plan to travel.

Do you join smaller groups together with other school groups to make one large group?

No, we do not join school groups together unless this is specifically requested by the group supervisors.

What is the process for establishing our class trip itinerary?

World Class Tours will create a customized itinerary in consultation with the group leader.

Once agreed upon by both parties, the itinerary with a full list of inclusions, exclusions and the payment schedule will be provided to the lead teacher to submit to the school board for trip approval.

How do we get started with planning and school board approval?

First, an itinerary and price must be established with the group lead and World Class Tours. See the question about establishing itineraries for more info on this process.

Once the itinerary has been set, this becomes the ‘contract’ for the trip and the formal approval process can begin with the respective school board. It typically begins with the group lead completing the required application for an extended field trip to submit to the board and sending it along with the itinerary for approval.

How do you help ensure group safety?

Most school boards require that teacher supervisors submit a contingency plan, should issues regarding safety and well-being arise during the trip. We are very familiar with such requirements and work with group leads to make sure the best contingency plans and safety protocols are established.

All of our class trips include a comprehensive travel insurance policy to cover unforeseen emergency medical occurrences as well as events resulting in trip interruptions or cancellation.

Lastly, teacher supervisors have 24/7 access to World Class Tours personnel while they are away to help deal with any situations that may occur.
