Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Are deposits refundable?
Deposits are non-refundable as they are used to secure arrangements for each traveller.
However, if you change your mind about travelling, we will try our best to find a replacement traveller to take your place. In this case, the deposit will likely be refunded unless it has been used to pay for airline tickets.
How many Globetrotters trips are offered per year?
At least one major tour is offered each year.
Depending on interest, a second or third trip, usually shorter in length, will be offered.
How far in advance do I need to book?
We start the process at least 12 months prior to the departure date.
Typically, deposits are requested at least 10 to 12 months before the trip takes place. This allows us to secure the best group rates available and top notch accommodations.
Do you offer cancellation insurance?
Yes, we offer a full line of comprehensive travel insurance packages, including cancellation insurance, through Manulife and Allianz Insurance companies.
Travel insurance is an individual choice and must be purchased when the initial deposit is paid for the trip. Depending on your insurance needs, we will advise the best coverage.
Can we book for more than 1 or 2 people?
Yes, certainly. The groups are usually 14 to 26 people in total so if you have more than 2 people who are interested, it is important to get in touch with us early on in the process so we can secure all arrangement for the size of the group.
I’m concerned about safety while travelling - what measures do you have in place?
Cheryl, the group leader on all of the Globetrotter’s trips, is very experienced in looking out for all of the travellers in her group. Travellers have access to her by cell phone throughout the tour so if an emergency arises, she is there to assist.
As well, there is always a local tour manager with the group to help with any unforeseen circumstances.
The group also has 24/7 access to our back-up team in Canada. If travel arrangements need to be altered on-the-go, the team will work with Cheryl to make alternate arrangements and keep the group safe.
